Best offline IDT software

Right now I'm using Tacx Trainer Software 4 and I'm slowly starting to hate it.

It's glitchy, slow and crashes more than Cavendish.

I do like the Virtual Trainer though - great for pushing yourself to beat pixels.

I do my training in my basement room where there is no Internet connection so offline is best for me.

What are you guys using? Any other software that has VR?

I'm using a Tacx Satori Smart IDT linked to my laptop.

Give me your recommendations please...

WIFI?

I use Rouvy Virtual Trainer on WiFi no problems at all.... apart from my legs

There are a bunch of suppliers- it just seems a little silly to get a data supplier and contract for an IDT.

Tell me..... this Zwift, can you ride famous climbs, routes or your own favourite routes with it?

No this is not possible. Zwift is a virtual world with different types of routes and programs etc. There is 3 worlds - London, Wattopia (Zwift world) and Richmond.

For your own I would use Rouvy - is what I used before Zwift. I enjoy zwift more... lots of races and activities which you can complete. Group rides and group training sessions also.

I enjoy Zwift more than Rouvy as it feels less like riding along a video...

Zwift is $10 a month if I remember correctly... but first 20km is free to test if you want to just check it out.

I am using Zwift but I am not sure if I am getting all the benefits because the workouts are so hard I always close my eyes for the duration of the workout. Maybe an offline IDT software might do the same job for me as well.

Sounds like your FTP is set too high?  Have you done an FTP test?

I did do an FTP test, but I use an IDT for hard trainig sessions (110% upwards...like gorby workout) twice a week and for easy rides I hit the road.I guess thats the reason its called a paincave.

You can run ZWIFT in offline mode.

You will however not see any connected people on the route.

But still works.

I’m quite happy with rouvy and enjoy being able to ride my favourite local routes and the various challenges they have on the IDT in winter.

I will try zwift one day, just to see what all the hype is about

Thanks for the info????
