Once again top notch service from Frans and his team.

I dropped my wheel off with them around mid day yesterday. Knowing they would be rather busy with last minute services etc. I told them not to rush, I won't need the wheel until wednesday afternoon.

Got a call around 16:00 yesterday to tell me the wheel was sorted.

I popped around there this morning at 8am when they opened to pick it up.

Instead of taking the easy route and replacing the bearings they cleaned and repacked the existing ones as there was nothing wrong with them.

This is why I like to support guys like this, they give great honest service knowing that most people will come back for repeat business further down the line.

I have known Frans for over 15 years and he always went the extra mile for Botswana customers

Bought a number of bikes from him and he even once stayed on at the shop on a Sat afternoon waiting till I got there even though he was meant to be at a wedding

Top notch guy

Just heard from a riding buddy that tour de frans has closed its doors. Voluntary insolvency. Closed his doors last week.

that is really sad news.

I got undertones during conversations with Frans that things might be going "not so well", but to land up closing is really sad.

Support your LBS people, thats the only way to keep them in business.

Things started going pear shaped when Frans took ill and spent considerable time away from the business. He used to hold top end bikes but lately displayed entry level and cheaper unknown brands.

That's exactly what my buddy said. He actually worked for Frans many moons ago during school holidays. He is still in contact with him. Frans was basically off work for 18 months and money started going missing from the shop. So much in fact that he couldn't recover financially.

No man

Hope he gets sorted

Known him since 2002 and always found him to be solid

If you see him tell him Marius from Botswana wishes him well

Sad to hear a business has folded due to internal  fraud (if that is the case ) I have known Frans from the mid 80's as a vet cyclist before he opened his shop . Last month i bought a new MTB and asked him for a quote on 2 models and i never got them , now i know why . The writing was obviously on the wall .
