Aero wheels or Di2 ?

Aero / Deep section wheels are fine - if you were in CT with the way the winds been blowing - I am now of the opinion shallow section wheels better. Also remember if you have training wheels versa race and race wheel then either have 1 cassette for both and swop over each time or ensure the chain is working well on both.

Di2 is a huge improvement on Mechanical - it makes it so much easier to change gear - can make a huge different to riding style / efficiency esp if you have short roller in your area. Its way easier to ride to the correct cadence on Di2.

If you want some good prices on both wheels or Di2 Ultegra PM me.

Patch mentioned something that sat with me a while ago, something along the lines of aero wheels dont matter much when you are sitting in a bunch...

True, but not much matters when you are sitting in a bunch, a chip packet with enough determination could probably sit in a bunch all day, but when that bunch surges, strings out after a sharp corner, or you find your self at the front, I wager that aero wheels are going to help you more.

Also, think about it, at world tour level, you'll still see teams (albeit the smaller ones) that run mechanical but you'll struggle to find a team that isn't on some degree of deep section carbon wheelset.

I will concede that the sound of an electronic derailleur shifting is a very sexy thing and instills deep seated jealousy every time I hear it

I suppose that is a factor.

My problem is that I have good old Campag Record 10spd on some of my bikes and when I change up or down, front or back, it is completely silent and nobody hears it so  they can't tell quite how good it is ...   :whistling:

Perhaps this will help. Electronic shifters will improve your ride no matter what and in any weather condition. Deep section fancy wheels will only improve your ride in still air and at speed. So if you are fat, slow or old, then go for the shifters. If you want people to know how much money you spend on your bike then go for the fancy wheels as these are visible from near and far.

Often you will find that the fat, old slow okes ride the bestest equipment on earth 'cos they have the bucks to spend and like to make this known. So f*ckit, why choose, buy both and enjoy life!

God my spelling is atrocius today, need to edit these posts a few times. Must be my age.

If you're serious about riding - wheels.

If your just spoiling yourself - electronic group.

If you want to yank the missus's chain - both.! :)

I agree with both

You cant beat that sound of Di2 gear changes with a carbon deep section

If i had to choose one, Di2

Those pure crisp gear changes
