Tubless Stan's conversion on Olympic ZTR rims. Maxxis mimo 2.0 on front and Kenda SB8 1.9 on back

1.5 - 2 bar (depending on conditions)

Weight = 65 kgs

Full sus

Erhm...

Tubeless at 20PSI. Soooper soft for more traction which = more speed. Maybe like 5PSI more in the back tire.

Thanks Mountain Lion. I see that mr Borman indeed had an opinion on this.

 

It does seem from this thread that most riders prefer to ride soft tires, +- 2.1-2.2 bar.

 

I wll tell my buddies harder is better and kick their butts this weekend.

I think I need to look at my tyre pressure. I 4.2 rear and 3.5 front with slime tubes. And it's 1.95 wide tyres. Maybe that's why I'm getting a vibration from the tyres at a certain speed.

Having read the other thread and the Schwalbe article, I think that tyre pressure essentially needs to balance three things:

 

1. Rolling resistance i.e. speed where tractional and control are not a factor. Here high pressure is better, but too high and you get a bone jarring ride.

2. Uphill traction. Low is better, but up to a point.

3. Downhill traction. Low is definitely better, but too low and you risk tyre rips.

 

I still feel that based on experience 2 bar is the happy medium, with 1,5 for very loose riding.

As ek enigsins minder as 2.5 bar gaan voel dit of die rims deurstamp.  Ek weeg 100kg.  Hoe swaarder jy is hoe harder die wiele, ek dink egter nie jy moet harder as 2.8 bar gaan op tubeless nie dan begin jy bietjie rondgly op die losser grond

Oh yes, to answer the original question...

 

Stan's tubeless conversion, tubeless tyres on Anthem full sus

2.3 to 2.5bar (front and rear; still experimenting)

recently managed to get just under 90kg! Smile

1.8 to 2.5 normally.  Tubeless Hard tail  80kg

 

At the moment running the rear at 3.5 because it is deflating when it is lower than 3.

I had a look at mine and I was looking at PSI. 42psi in the back and about 38psi at the front. It works out to abou 2.9bar front and and 2.6bar rear. And this is with tubes.

OK, I got my Topeak electronic gauge out and found that the gauge on my floor pump is out (checked with another gauge as well just to confirm).

 

I am actually using 1.8 to 2 bar!
