awesome build being done by The Privateer in Cape Town.

Taking our FARR OUT CROMO Frame-Kit and build a FLATBAR monster!!!

thoughts?

could this be the IDEAL BIKE FOR SA RIDING ...

That looks Farr out. Who wants to be gripping drops in the dirt anyway? No wait. Hat, coat, door...

Juat received my aero bolt on and bar tape, packaging is excellent and the product looks really well made. Now just waiting for the farr bar to arrive then I can mount everything and give it a test ride this weekend. Gonna be spending alot more time on my XC bikes which involves a bit or riding on jeep track and tar roads, so this is a very exciting addition for me!

Just don't torque it too tightly, no more than 3nm

Thanks, will keep in mind, I would've gone to 5. Did you learn the hard way?

Shyte. What went, the handlebar or the bolt-on?

No the Bolt-on.  Just go to about 2.5-3nm and apply some anti-slip grease

Ridefarr was replaced the Bolt-on within two days, so no complaints from my side

2.5NM is optimum --- you can tighten by hand and will quickly feel that it does not need alot of torque to actually fasten to the handlebar.

some handlebars are ALLOY Sandblast finish and grip nice and easily.

others are glossy CARBON and then require a bit more torque.

but this is not a stem - so don't tighten it like one

we have sold a bunch of these Aero Bolt-On's and shipped 95% of them overseas.

so far only 1 overtighten issue  :w00t:

Cool, thanks for the reply. I am bolting onto a farr bar, so will use some carbon paste and 2.5nm.

awesome - what I meant about the "glossy CARBON" is that the surface of those bars can be very slippery - these days most are "MATTE FINISH" and then it actually grips alot easier.

pls post some pics when you have them fitted - always cool to see the different setups with bar  / bolt-on / gps / led etc. different strokes for different folks!

I will do - only placed the order for the bar this morning, so will hopefully have it fitted and post some pics this Friday.
