Any thoughts on why Sani is struggling to sell out this year? The Race and Trail events are still open a mere 3 weeks before the events are to start. There are also bargain buys here on the Hub at as low as R7000 for a team entry.

More choices and exorbitant pricing... Wait a week and team entries will be down to R5k... Same as last year...

My 1cent , maybe sani must do what W2W are doing, and have the first event over a weekend 2nd one mid week and third one over weekend again. All the events start in the week and to do it from cape town means you must take leave for the entire week. Which sucks. But as I say this is only my 1 cent.

I imagine it is a logistics thing for Sani? The upside for the organisers of the current format is that they can fit in 3 events over 5 days.

It was oversubscribed for so long with guys hanging onto entries like they were gold, that parties have moved onto other things.

At least that's what many of us did.

From my point of view after doing 3 Sanis , first one 9 years ago, I feel the event has become so mainstream that most entrants cannot even descend the umkomaas without pushing causing massive bottlenecks, and the corporate culture it has become has made the event a procession and not an MTB adventure. So the appeal as far as I'm m concerned has dissipated and would rather ride less crowded trails
