Paid R1500 yesterday for a road bike. Now no answer. 

 

Should I open a police case? I have an ABSA bank account and a MTN cell phone number.

 

Open a case get the case number then go to ABSA and they will block the account as well.

OK, just and update on the matter. Firstly the bike was a rather rundown Avalanche, so the price seemed reasonable - maybe a bit too good - but having sold a bike for R1800 this year I felt it seems legit. 

The seller is indeed TriLad who scammed fellow hubber a year ago. I went through that thread and someone that had success in dealing with his parents assisted me. I feel so bad after talking to his mom on the phone, she is a very nice lady and I could tell she was embarrassed by all this and wanted to make things right. My initial suggestion was that I give her the account number I paid to and she verifies if it is correct and check with her son if all is OK. 

 

But it seems she has been through this drama before and insist I give her my details and she will refund me tomorrow. You know for these folks R1500 is a lot more than what it is for me.

While I am getting refunded and all is well on my side, I still feel so bad about all this. It's just so sad.

This laaitie needs to feel the burn, as apparently he is not feeling remorse. And the only people who are feeling it are the people he scams, and his parents.

I wouldn’t assume his folks are caring as some make out to be.

Having read about his mother's severe embarrassment and remorse before I think some of us have grown sceptical. Really hope you get your refund!

Because he is using the name of a legit shop they are pressing charges. That is all I can say at this stage.

Tannie that did the refund replied "Die Here seen. Ek wil hom n groot skrik gee." Maybe they'll fix him afterall...
