Should be muddy behind the casino.  I live about 4km from the casino and we had about 50mm of rain between yesterday morning and today

You wanna head out on the trails and give us an update :D?

There is still a little bit of rain forecast for today till about midnight, but has stopped raining since about lunch time.

Weather looks pretty good for tomorrow.  About 9degrees at start time with wind no stronger than 10km/h

Routes had to be diverted and shortened due to the heavy rains that caused problems on the trails.

60km got trimmed down to 48km but still tough as nails with the conditions being what it was.

Did not expect the terrain to be that rocky though  .  Made for some tricky climbing on certain spots to keep momentum and grip...

Still was a fun hard day of racing...could just have done without the slow puncture on 15km to go ...nursing that home without stopping on that gnarly terrain was...well...perhaps stupid on my part in retrospect but then not knowing the route and terrain that was the gamble I had to take.

All things considered still happy with my result...

These routes have surprised many a unsuspected rider before.

Lots of "outside" people know the routes behind the casino, but that's only where the fun starts......[emoji6]

Glad you enjoyed riding here.[emoji106]

Thanks to everyone that put in a lot of effort to make this happen. All the people were friendly, lots of marshals that smiled and greeted back, proper route marking - really a well organised event.

As for the route, that first part until after Fairy Glen was not really memorable or exciting. I know the section that was cut came after Fairy Glen and would have had more of the fun stuff. However it was beyond the control of the organisers - they had to act in the interest of rider safety.
