FirstV8 Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 My trusted Fizik saddle which i estimate i have done 6000km on already had a malfunction on saturday . I hate changing saddles as it takes to long to get it run in so to say . The rail is made of 8 X 1mm Chrome Moly tubing and had a clean snap on the section behind the clamp on the seat post . I did a quick repair on the ride by moving the saddle forward so that the broken part was clamped in the middle of the holder . I managed to finish the ride .
Zatopek Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Same happened to me. Saddle was old though - ~5 years. Did not bother me to much, with my weight it worked quite hard... (The local bike shop mentioned that here is actually a one/two year warranty on that - should your saddle be relative new)

slickjay007 Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 My Fizik saddle didn't snap but rather the Chrome Moly rail popped out of the mounting on the back. For the life of me i can't get it popped back in. The saddle is about 2 years old with about 1500 km wear.
s14phoenix Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 metal fatigue. I have a problem saddles and creaking where the rail goes in the base. So was considering 1 piece carbon saddle.

dasilvarsa Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Sometimes its possible to get the rails off a saddle but then its impossible to get them back in.
