What do hubbers recommend ito postage when returning goods to Merlin Cycles.

What are the quickest, cheapest, most reliable and acceptable means.?

Appreciate advice from those with experience.

Thx.

Quick, Cheap, Reliable - pick 2.

DHL is all reliable and quick, but expensive.

SAPO is cheap but neither quick or reliable.

If the item is high value a return may be worth it, but I have always just sold the items on the Hub and recovered a bit more than I would have by returning the item. I was quoted R1700 to return a crankset to Chain Reaction Cycles last year by PostNet (DHL). The crankset only cost me R1500 so I just sold it on Le Hub for R1200.

I was quoted R800 by Postnet to send a 400g parcel to Europe. It was one of those A4 bubble wrap envelopes. So not very big either! Thankfully the sapo strike is over.

I assume tracked etc.?

What was the associated timeframe.?

R500 - R1000 is what I was anticipating for a similar sized package.

Noted.

As a warranty issue, the item unfortunately has little resale value if any.

But enough replacement value imo to justify return.

Just trying to figure out best way to go about it.

The other option may be to get the online store to organise courier and you pay for it. I know CRC gives that option if it is warranty. Their cost through DHL is R250, the general public R1500 for some items - obviously their bulk gives them some dicount. I'm sure the same will apply to Merlin.

Anyone one know what the duties are on a set of wheels from Merlin. The courier cost is R1800 . How much do I have to spend to get free shipping . Also going to order dome tyres .

Should only be VAT.?

I think free shipping from Merlin is around R6k.
