Aero Bike: disc or rim brakes?

You give a number if opinions as if they are fact rather than debatable points. I tend to believe you are wrong on a number but you are entitled to your opinion.

But you also make a number of statements as empirical fact which are easily proved wrong.

Here is one. Not top range, with disks, pedals and power meter, sub 7.

How much value should we give to your opinions if your facts are wrong?

Please stop showing off my bike... hehehehehehe

That’s very light.

Saw a Parlee Z Zero disc yesterday and it was 6.8kg complete with pedals.

Sorry, when I was quoting weights I’m taliking about aero bike weights as what OP is looking at.

My disc Canyon Aeroad weighs in at 7.35kg with EVERYTHING already bolted and strapped on. Pedals, 2 bottle cages , Garmin mount and sensors. And that's with Zipp's relatively heavy 404's. That bike can go sub 6.8kg with a change of wheels. Add lighter pedals and other weenie bits (there are lighter tyres out there) and it'll klap 6.5 on the scale - no problem.

Disc brakes seem to be the way to go, however, I have been watching the TdF on TV. The vast majority of riders are still on rim brakes.

Perhaps their sponsors have not got around to giving them disc bikes yet (which I doubt considering the marketing value) or they know something we don't.

maybe, but i suspect it will not be long until disc brake bikes are under legal weight.

in fact, i'd be surprised if there are not a few disc bikes that are under 6.8kgs

The legal weight only applies to the pros. Keen amateurs have always had bikes well bekow that limit ????

There was a guy at the Jock on a Storck with lekker wheels, some carbon crankset  and even lightweight (as in brand) bottle cages.

This bike was sub 6kg and had to be tied down when not ridden as it would otherwise float off into the sky

The upside is seeing cool, exotic bikes - the downside is that it is cheating...

Hmmm is the Jock a CSA sanctioned race?
