Since Klopp took over:

He has needed 5 years to get them to be number 1. Too many other clubs are rushing to get instant success and sacking their manager after limited success. Even Ferguson took 6.5 seasons to deliver them to number 1.

I said to a friend who is a LFC supporter that they need to give Brendan Rogers time to get things settled. He went 7th, 2nd, 6th, sacked. Evans and Houllier were similar (sacked after having a poor season, the year after coming so close).

If UTD sack Solskjaer, they risk having another cycle of failure. Arsenal are the same. Emery wasn’t given time to make changes.

If results only is the benchmark, then 91 managers should lose their job every year, as only one team can win the league. Exclude those that gain promotion to the next division so it’s 83. For some clubs it’s survival in the league, so winning at all costs is not the be all and end all. Finances make up the reasons too.

I agree with much of your sentiment, but the simple thing for me is that Utd do not seem to be going anywhere with Ole... he doesn't make players better, he doesn't get the maximum out of players, he doesn't seem to have an eye for talent. You could see most of these things early on with Klopp, even if he wasn't always getting the results. Outside of Ole's initial golden starting run, they have been pretty woeful most of the games I have watched.

So while I love the idea of Utd holding on to him for years and not hiring Poch who I believe would be a game changer for them... I think Ole has already been given a fair crack and like I say, I don't see much light at the end of the tunnel.

But that is just my opinion, the longer Utd are mediocre the better for me as a Spurs fan - one less competitor for the top 4

Aye.. we were poor so we lost..not a great performance from Juve

Napoli sure took some scalps this week..first by beating Lazio in the Coppa game and beating us last night.. ..should really have taken advantage as Inter and Lazio dropped points.. instead we dropped 3.

Oh well.. heads ups on to the next one.

all of a sardine i'm seeing so many Liverpool hats and shirts on the streets.

new fans, or okes were just too embarrased to wear them in the past?

Seems like they let the real die hards "walk alone" for far too long!

Everyone wins, us too...one more team to fight it out in the drop zone...

Never!

You'll find the increase in Liverpool tops worn is directly proportionate to the decrease in Utd Tops worn  :w00t:

Yeah well that's how it goes.. you find the teams on top generally get more support....suppose no one starts supporting a losing team when they start watching the sport..(esp those not raised in the actual areas of the clubs) there will also always be the champion hoppers.. from one team to the next.. or player supporter who moves support when a player moves... I saw some story about 320k a week...

It was not about the money though

I remember L'pool were lying 10th when Rodgers was sacked (and Rodgers complaining "Give me the tools and I'll do the work" ie "I have a crap squad"). He was not entirely wrong but in your 4th season in charge you don't get to use that excuse anymore.

With a coach with the pedigree of Klopp becoming available and Pool under Rodgers going nowhere slowly the decision was a no-brainer.

Agree with Gen on ManU, they desperately need a sporting director and keep Woodward away from transfers, he approaches transfers the same way we do when doing transfers playing FIFA on the playstation. Don't see how sacking (or keeping) Ole will make any difference, the squad is useless.

I admit that I thought Eriksen is/was the heartbeat of Spurs and my absolute fave player throughout his time at the club... I will miss him, but I think this move comes at a good time for both player and club - Can they just get it over the line already!!

Of course, the close of that chapter will bring opportunities for the new chapter with the exciting Gio Lo Celso getting more match time, as well as income to close for a new striker.

BTW Met a Spurs Supporter (visiting) in the Wanderers Stadium yesterday, while we watched the SA v Eng 4th Test match... COYS

So, we get to play Spurs again next week. I think Jose will want this more than Ralph. Levy must be pressing for a trophy, any trophy. Unlikely to be in top 4, and unlikely to lift the champions league the FA cup must be a real possibility for Spurs. Just get passed us , think we still in survival mode so possibly Ralph will not field a strong team, then Norwich then quarters. It must be in the Jose game plan.

Would not mind Spurs in the FA cup final.
