Mats Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Red Train.. tootoot! Undecided as to where we'll start. Walkerville is and will always be ***. Please explain?
mecheng89 Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 Please explain?Walkerville Hill, about 25k in. Guaranteed to split the bunch.
Frosty Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Please explain? The unfit, fat and winter hibernators usually get dropped on the 4% drag from the Lido hotel to Walkerville - at least in the faster racing cats. Survival mode until the finish if one gets dropped here (+/- 20km into the race). Let the break go, and ride with the bunch.
Mats Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Thanks mecheng89 and Frosty.Guess I need to get my entry in.
CharlesZ Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 I'm in for the race walkerville is not bad but as Frosty say, when you fat and unfit you will get dropped, whaha let's hope that will not happen to me as i'm fat and so so fit and who is the red train

Rowl Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 I'll be there, fat and unfit. But the best organised/value for money race on the Gauteng calendar in my opinion. When is this? 9 September.
Escapee.. Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 We did the route yesterday. Road condition good except for the stretch next to Suikerbosrand. The wind though in the last 40 km
mecheng89 Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 We did the route yesterday. Road condition good except for the stretch next to Suikerbosrand. The wind though in the last 40 km It's been bad for yonks. I've become a really k@k rider in the wind, so I'm praying it stays away. Thanks for the update!
CharlesZ Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 currently indicated a SW at 19 kmp wind for Sunday, totally different it was the past few weeks as it was mainly NE wind. Nice headwind up Walkerville and tailwind bringing us back home with a fair bit of cross in the back sections prefer stronger winds in these races.
