Issue with Garmin Connect

Hi anyone have an issue loading Garmon Connect onto a laptop. I have the latest version of Windows which is a curse in and if itself. I download the file and get error message cannot open the file.

You mean Garmin Express?

 

Use Garmin express to upload/sync from your device.  

 

Garmin Connect is just a webpage to review your workouts and basic analysis of them.

 

I run latest Win10, either use the garmin app on my phone to upload workouts or sync/upload using garmin express.

 

I also use garmin express to ensure my devices have the latest firmware.

 

No issues at this moment in time!

Apologies Garmin Express. I have checked Google and its a known issue. I am wanting to update my Garmin 510 but without Garmin Express Im buggered

Make sure you use the original garmin USB cable.

I have been total frustrated trying to connect my previous  Garmin 510 and now 520 to my PC only to find a change of USB cable solves all.

I've used may different cables with my 820 and never had this issue. Might have been the first cable you tried was a charging cable rather than a proper USB cable?

Yes you can. Go to this site and get the build you want for your unit. http://gawisp.com/perry/edge/

 

Rename the file to gupdate.gcd and place it in the Garmin folder on the Edge. The Edge will then do the update when it restarts after being disconnected from the PC.

I've done a manual update before, and it works like a charm (the joys of running Linux!)
