It needs to attach straight to the stem, with nothing bendable inbetween. I bought one of these as I also wanted a GoPro in front of the bars, and it's been quite solid. I have the Rotor mount for Garmin and an adapter at bottom for mounting a GoPro or Garmin's Varia light which uses same mount as GoPro. K-edge sells a similar mount.
