If what I heard is the reason for his abandonment is legit, you will fall off your chair.

Will wait for a press release to see what they say. #sizemattersgate

Gearing issue followed by a tantrum ?

Or #skinsuitgate?

Any updates on this story John?

From The Secret Pro:

"Bonjour readers,

Unfortunately for Simon Yates (who won his first Tour de France stage), the story of the day was Rohan Dennis cracking it mid-stage, climbing into the team car, and quitting the Tour.

Far out ...

Rohan is pretty volatile to say the least. He's happy to tell a team manager that he's going to bash him. Some serious anger issues with him. For those who know him, you'll know it's something he's been dealing with for a long time.

This isn't the first time he's done this type of thing. Remember back in 2014 when he left Garmin-Sharp in the middle of the season and went to BMC? When have we ever seen that before? Basically what happened there is he already had a contract with BMC for the next year and JV showed him the door.

The word in the peloton about Rohan's nuclear meltdown was that he didn't like his Merida TT bike, and something about his skinsuit. Talk about throwing all your toys out of the pram ...

Pulling out the day before the ITT, where he's the main favourite, is very odd and isn't normal behaviour, and likely shows that Rohan is dealing with some serious demons.

His team handled the whole incident really poorly. Why would they take him to the team bus where journalists would be waiting, and then to the finish where more journalists would be waiting? It's ridiculous. But maybe they wanted to humiliate him ...?"

Rohan Dennis reluctantly withdrew from Tour de France

Team Bahrain Merida Press   |   Press

Pau, Thursday 18th July 2019 – During today’s stage of the Tour de France, Team Bahrain Merida rider Rohan Dennis reluctantly withdrew from the race.

Dennis commented: ‘I am very disappointed to leave the race at this point. Obviously the individual time trial tomorrow had been a big goal for me and the team, but given my current feeling it was the right decision to withdraw earlier today.

I wish my teammates the very best for the remainder of the race and would like to thank all the Tour de France fans who cheered for me, at home and on the roadside, since Brussels.

I will hopefully be back competing in this great race again over the coming seasons.’

This press release sounds like a whole bunch of hogwash.

He spelt.."I am a spoilt brat and threw a tantrum but will continue to collect my salary" wrong.

Or

Probably has an agreement with another team and is trying to force his way out of BM.

I think Stoute Wout is going to surprise some people today...

According to G,  Stoute Wout is the favourite, so the mind games have started.

G is much more experienced and has the benefit to start second last but van Aert has nothing to lose and can empty himself while G will have the massive stage coming up tomorrow in the back of his mind.

What is however fairly certain is that (unless he crashes or has a mechanical) G will gain time on the other legit GC contenders. His teammate Bernal will probably have to try and limit his losses.

Richie Porte is another GC contender who is (or used to be) good against the clock so it will be interesting to see if he can move up in the overall standings.

Should be great watching.

Stoute Wout is the Belgium national TT champ..so it would be no surprise if he won today

When did you get to know him so well personally to know what all lead to this and why? Based off you saying he is now ass? He is difficult yes, but let me give you a small secret, your hero Sagan is not all loved in the peloton by riders and so forth due to behavior and attitude etc. All athletes at this level are difficult across all sports that why they are where they are. Some or worse than others and some only show it behind closed doors.

Well if I read the secret pros assumption and many other articles, he seems to be an ass based on past behaviour . So one can only comment on what is public knowledge..

How well do you know him?

Also because I am not 5 yrs old I have no heroes..I have athletes I like..some more than others... feel free to call Sagan an ass when abruptly abandons the biggest race when there is nothing physically wrong with because he is unhappy with equipment, equipment he has been using all year, leaving himself and the team look like clowns.
