I'm running 105 10-Speed STI's with a 10-Speed Deore XT Derailleur, for what it's worth.

Would you mind to share the exact model number of XT RD? I would love to replace my current 9sp one with a 10sp with clutch ....

Sure, bike is not at my house currently, so I'll make a plan to go out and check when I can. I want to say that it's a RD-M781-SGS (non-clutch), but let me double check.

No stress, when you get a chance. Thanks!

I doubt very much that 11 speed Sram road shifters will work with an Eagle derailleur.

They won't - the pull ratios are different.

However, that is the case for SRAM, but the OP is asking regarding Shimano. I can't comment on this as I only run SRAM.

Yes but the OP made this comment as well :-

"Forgot to mention , currently have Eagle on the bike . So fitting a road bar it would be cheaper to just get SRAM road shifters and a 11 speed cassette and use the Eagle jockey adjusted to 11 speed ?"

maybe a dumb question, but how is a RD really speed compliant?

Surely it's all about the distance of the "throw" for each click on the shifter?

in understand things will get different once we start looking at different cassette widths, but everything was standard up to 11 speed, no?

edit:had a quick look, forget i asked

The rear derailleur is designed to leverage a certain distance with each click of the shifter.
