Best light bike with gears for 6 year old boy

Hi, I'd like to know which is the best bike for my son who has just turned 6.  He currently has a Giant Animator 16" but is desperate for a bike with gears.  He is on the small side (1,12cm and 21kg) so I need the smallest (so the one for the shortest inseam), lightest 20" bike around (as it seems in SA we don't seem to have 18" bikes).  Price is not an issue at all.  Many thanks

I had the same problem.... Ended up with a Silverback Spyke 20'' bike, OK specs...

A BMX A decent bike will be about 6kgs and more than enough to LEARN skills.

 

Most mtb options are way too heavy for that age.

 

My kids are now 9 and moving to mtbs. They have not raced more than 5 times but can seriously handle a bike.

Only issue with that is that the standover is significantly higher than some of the other 20" options.
