I have found a Shifter.

But I need someone who is traveling from JHB down to 3 Sisters/ Colesberg area.

I need to keep cycling on.

If you remove/cut the cable will it not "default" to the small chainring? 

 

Might be having a blank moment with my mechanical knowledge (haven't touched a road bike in ages) but I thought that was how they work.

FD or RD?

 

if FD, and you're on a 2x system with external cable routing.

default the cable length to the small ring.

 

get a hoseclamp on the top tube

measure it out so that if you move the cable over the hoseclamp, it moves the FD into the big ring.

 

if RD, then best get a replacement.
