man that is pretty bizarre. I'm all for jokes but this was never going to be that funny in the first place. i'm 9 weeks into cracked ribs and it has been like torture

This sort of expression is what makes afrikaans such a beautiful language!

Cracked ribs are a b@#$h - for 6 months I could only sleep on my right side (3rd time I cracked the same rib).

Unfortunately for the OP vertebrae issues are for life. Seriously hope for your sake you have a speedy recovery...

That was no practical joke . The worst we did as youngsters with our mates bikes in the bicycle shed at school or sports field was to swop the cables for front and rear brakes around . Remember in those way back years we all rode normal bikes and that was a 30 second job . . Hilarious to see your mate pull his back brake and now its the front .

I hate to say it, but had this thread been about that being done to someone and they had gone over the bars with the same consequences as the OP (quite possible going down a hill at speed) everyone would have been shouting sabotage as well.

I've done exactly this as a kid, so am not slating you, but I think it would be just as dick to swop brakes out as what was done to the OP - noe that we are adults and can imagine the "worst case" outcome anyway.

Thank goodness half the practical jokes we pulled as kids turned out the way they did, coz heaven knows it could've ended very badly!

Hilarious!  This is what happened to me once when I rode my cousins bike - I tried to do a little skid on the road outside his house with the rear brake but it was the front brake...  I hit the ground so fast that I was still holding onto the bars.  Result: fractured skull, broken teeth, broken finger and massive roasties on my face.

Maybe think twice about doing something that has the possibility to cause injury.
