What the need to do is humble themselves and approach the races and basically beg for support so that they can achieve a goal..also do they have a goal do they have a long term plan are they working towards anything..no-one knows because everything regarding CSA is hush hush.

But first get rid of the GM...he has proven himself to be utterly incompetent .

Edit ..the GM was appointed on the basis that he said he would bring in sponsorship and under his watch CSA lost lotto funding.

Rubbish CSA are starting to enforce the rule to force more races to be sanctioned so that they can try and balance the books..nothing else.

I don't want to defend CSA but as Eldron pointed out it is an UCI rule and not a new & obscure one. If you have a racing license there is a responsibility on you to be aware of the rules & comply with it. If we give zero sympathy to a rider who accidentally take a banned substance we should apply the same reasoning to the other rules.

The full racing licenses are not aimed at the weekend warriors (that is what the normal CSA censorship is for), they are for people who take their racing seriously. So there is an obligation on them to take the rules seriously and not just plead ignorance when it suits them.

There are lots of good reasons to bash CSA, I think here we are picking the wrong one.

So rhe fact is that your local region gets most of the money

Riders levies R 5 CSA /R 5 Region

Day licensa R 10 csa/R 20 region/ R 5 admin

Why not first challenge your local region to post financials

CSA have some real overheads

Your local region should be pumping almost all the money back into the sport

What region was this race held in?

I really get that rules are rules, had CSA not been a such a shitshow regarding their finances I would be 100% beind them.

Nothing changes.

Back in the day if you raced the Argus when there was a registered race in the area and a jacket saw you it was a suspension .

Something about having power over lesser mortals !!!!

Red herring alert. The topic at hand is the fines issued for riding Choc and the reasoning thereof.

Part of the current working theory is that CSA are doing this to improve income by forcing races to become CSA sanctioned - this info destroys that theory - quite relevant I'd say...

Can tell you from a region like Central Gauteng that revenue is down almost 40%. on 2017

With the numbers significantly lower than in previous years, race organisers are finding it tough to turn a profit and will start looking at ways to cut costs. One of these is not to sanction and give CSA their cut.

Other race organisers will sanction and will then drag tbeir feet when it comes time to pay over day license money and levies.

Things are just simply tough out there at tbe moment and sponsors are not so easy to find.

Not really surprising given the sentiment towards CSA I guess.

Cycling also seems to be going to non racing route at the moment which isn't great for CSA.

Do you think that is because of the economy and people expecting more bang for their buck or are people just gatvol of events.
