So just to get back on track.

Just use your bell

Or call well in advance and trail runner now dog will step aside and let you pass on your way.

Very simple and civil.

No need to shout or bark.

some people get highly pi$$ed off when you ring your bell behind them.

I slow right down to their walking pace, then greet them and chat about their dog and the weather ....

They typically trip over themselves as they try to make way ....

Granted at places like Majic Forest one really should not be pushing for Strava with all the people and all the blind corners .... so I adjust my riding according to the trail, and get my heart rate going again as soon as I am away from the people and dogs.

The slower of the two should just make their presence know to the other and ask to pass/make way/restrain their dog. It's not that difficult.

Learnt this the hard way the other day when I 'sneaked' pass some geyser walking his big ass German Shepherd and the pooch didn't take to kindly to me and got in a good couple of bites of my quad and knee.

Never a good idea to sneak pass or surprise a German Shepherd  :)

I have two who are ''inside'' dogs. They are super protective over our family and as I work away from home that's the way I like it
