MTB Helmet questions

Just pulling your leg a bit there. I know that most spez stuff are very well thought out and are good quality products, I'm just not very familiar with their range.

There is a Spez store in walking distance from my office ....

YES, they have some seriously nice stuff......

Very wierd that I buy so much of my stuff at King Cycles, after window shopping at the many local shops ....  They have an impressive range, but there is just something "extra" in their client service, at King Cycles

That said, currently have Spez pedals, Spez shoes, and bar-ends on my bike ....  :whistling:

I've seen many things on the online site's of the Specialized dealers that I thought looked great and I still want to get a set of their body geometry grips.

Use to drive Johan crazy when I'd talk about this when I worked there .[emoji16]

I don't put sunblock on above my eyebrows except on the sides. That way it can't run down into my eyes when I sweat. Never had an issue burning there with or without a peak on my helmet (I ride both depending on whether I'm on my road bike or MTB).

I definitely prefer a peak on my MTB for the sun but no peak on my road bike so I can see where I'm going while tucked on the downhills (but not sitting on my top tube  :P )

Why would you want to remove the visor thingy?

Most of the visor thingies move backwards and forwards.

Any good helmet you buy will do.

Expensive does not equal best.

NB  -  NB

Proper fit and size and comfort is paramount.

Heads differ so what is comfortable for one is not for another.

Visor is used to keep rain out of your eyes on XCO & XCM. (Roadies sometimes wear cycling caps for the same reason).

For Enduro, where clear glasses are preferred, and a more upright position on the bike means the visor does not block line of sight, it helps for sun.

At the WC XCO in Stellenbosch, almost none of the pro racers had visors on their helmets.

Thanks. My priority is definetly to try on helmets before buying,it’s a family thing that our heads tend to be bigger than what is seen as average. (Pull over hoodies are the worst).

after i broke my mtb helmet in the middle of last year  which left me with a concussion for a while (hopefully it has cleared by now)...i am considering replacing my mtb with a helmet which has MIPS technology fitted...and a lower back part...something to consider.
