SRAM XX1 on Boost

Friendly people.

Bought XX1 Eagle groupset off a friend and want to put it on my Giant Anthem. New x12 cassette doesn't fit my current Shimano SLX hub (Giant Tracker Boost, 12x148) so require new freehub. Any recommendations that dont break the bank? My LBS is sorting me out, but thought it always good to get opinion from other hubbers. Expand the knowledge and what not.

yo Spike, your post isn't clear as to what's not working. Is it the cassette that isn't fitting on your freehub, as your freehub is Shimano HG and your cassette is SRAM XD?

Boost shouldn't be the issue at all, as it'll fit as long as the freehub is the right standard for the cassette you have.

If it is the freehub, you will need an XD Driver, or sell the SRAM cassette and get a Sunrace 12sp instead which will fit on the normal giant tracker Shimano freehub.

What exactly is the issue?

If its the crank then all you need is a new chainring. The cassette and derailleur is not boost specific.

Apologies gents, it was clear in my head  :w00t:  Updated accordingly!
Had a look at various freehubs, but quite expensive! As Captain indicated, Sunrace defs an option, but new freehub would probably still be cheaper.

maybe. Sunrace cassettes are ~1,600 incl chain from Rapide, and a new freehub may be around the same cost. Depending on what condition the SRAM cassette is in, you may be able to sell it for the same as what you can get the Sunrace for.

Spike on my previous bike I had to get a new hub and new free-body ....

On our current project I am staying with the existing Shimano components, and getting a Sunrace cassette.

I would personally get the freehub and stick with the Eagle cassette. They last much much longer than the aftermarket options.

Thanks for the comments gents. Either way, I will have to fork out for either freehub or new cassette. The Eagle however in top nick so would prefer to keep it. Heading on over to our local Giant workshop as well later and they said they can maybe make a plan so will see and keep you guys posted.
