Nibbles signs for Trek

Following their form of signing high profile (older) GC legends. Trek have confirmed the most open secret around, they have signed Vincenzo Nibali.

 

Apparently they are building a high level team around him.

I’ll make 2 predictions.

 

1) nibbles won’t win another GT and will play it out like Contador did.

 

2) Ritchie admits he’s not going to make it as a GT contender and returns to sky / inios like swift did and take large cash to be the super dom he always was.

Agree def not first tier rider but not many can claim 6 Grand tour top 10 finishes.

Also not sure how Bauke would be a domestique. He’s an all rounder and as a result not good enough in any of the specific elements.

Trek seems to keep living in the past with the has been line up they seem to build. I think they need to develop Ciccone for GC - They guy has had some promising results.

I heard this as well as the polka dot jersey. So he is going to have to loose big time somewhere to start with. I also don't know if the other big GC guys will believe this. Imagine this scenario: Nibali tunes he just wants the polka dot and stage wins. So when the mountains start he is still only a few min off the yellow and goes in the break. Gives all the GC guys a fist bump and tells them not to worry about the time he will gain and the possible yellow as he will loose the time later on. Then gets yellow by a few min and just hangs on till the end. Then tunes everyone in Italy a fist bump means he was just joking.
