Sidmouth Posted June 21, 2019 Share Just changed over to a Fox Stepcast 34 after 14000 km on my Pike non boost.Love the Fox, light and great to have a full lockout again. I do notice a hissing or breathing sound when riding very tough terrain and the fork is working hard, is this normal? its not an offensive noise, but is easily noticed
Bos Posted June 21, 2019 Share Perhaps your low speed compression damping?

Bos Posted June 21, 2019 Share Only if its uncomfortable. My Formula made that sound when I get near half way closed on the LSC, nothing wrong with it, but for my weight It happened to be a bit harsh, so I used less. Maybe you're a heavy guy and need more LSC to keep the fork from diving? Most folk use only a couple of clicks, unless you ride mostly smooth trails. go ride some long bumpy single track, repeat it a couple of times on different settings. BaGearA Posted June 21, 2019 Share Could be rebound, are you A heavy rider? Ie if your running a high pressure and therefor more rebound damping it could just be the rebound circuit making the sound

PhilipV Posted June 21, 2019 Share My Fox 32 with a Fit4 does the same. 3 years later and I've learned to relish the noise. It means I'm making it earn it's keep. DieselnDust and Sidmouth
droo Posted July 9, 2019 Share It's normal. Forks make noises, it's the damping circuit doing its job. DieselnDust and ChUkKy
