PhilipV Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 I know Manic well hence the concerndon't know the motorcycle shop but hope that they're insured and will continue in business and that their people are in good health. That inferno would have done a lot of damage to property, stock and injured people nearby just from the heat let alone those directly contacted by it.Not a lekker situation for the town as a wholeFortunately it happened in the early hours, the shops and business would still have been closed.

Maybe they can move in with their Bellville head office cousins and their brand spanking new building all our water increases paid for the last couple of years instead of those desalination plants
ChrisF Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 I had a nice marathon meeting with a couple of fire chiefs this morning .... small part of this meeting dealt with three off above ground fuel stores, and truck routes. Some interesting things said .... Worth noting that when we do a fire plan, we MUST show the "drive through" route for fuel and gas trucks !! We may NOT design with a reverse as part of the route .... been like this for decades already. Let's just say that a few facts still needs to be confirmed regarding this incident .....
