Don't want to jinx Jumbo Visma, but they are looking good for the GC win.

Although Pogacar didn't light it up today it was still a decent ride by him, giving Supermarket a run to the line.

Your autocorrelation made me laugh....

Willie Smit on The Cycling Podcast today regarding his crash on the flat stage the other day. 10 stitches inside and 6 outside, 'big cut and I could see the tendon, slept abut 2hrs' when asked abut his knee... and then mountainous day for fun on paracetamol.

Now go ride a back to back mountain stages.

Tough as but is it really a good idea to carry on riding? Knee injuries have crippled many a riders career hope he's getting the best advice. Either way the guy is nails.

After today, there remains only 2 stages with climbing.

If Roglic loses anything less than 30s today it would most likely sew things up for him before Madrid.

If however they can isolate him before the penultimate climb we could have the GC battle blown wide upon for the final week. But Jumbo Visma looks very much in control, so this seems unlikely.

Battle for 3rd will be something to watch, would love to see Pogocar hanging onto his 3rd place.

This might be a hectic breakaway stage with the current list of guys scattered in three pods off the front:

J. Knox DQT
M. Padun TBM
R. Cavagna DQT
R. Seigle GFC

+33s
J. FUGLSANG AST
T. DE GENDT LTS

+3s
T. Geoghegan Hart INS

P. Gilbert DQT
M. Richeze DQT

Knox has been hammering on the door for the last few stages but not managed to get in the break that sticks. I think he went about 4 times yesterday. Quickstep seem to be on a mission today.

It's all breaking to pieces on the CAT1 climb, groups everywhere:

"The four leaders keep pushing at the front.

Imanol Erviti (Movistar Team), Geoffrey Bouchard (Ag2r La Mondiale), Jakob Fuglsang, Luis León Sánchez (Astana Pro Team), Max Richeze, Philippe Gilbert (Deceuninck-Quick Step), Thomas de Gendt (Lotto-Soudal), Damien Howson (Mitchelton-Scott), Amanuel Ghebreizhabier (Team Dimension Data), Tao Geoghegan Hart (Team Ineos), Nikias Arndt (Team Sunweb), Nikias Eg (Trek-Segafredo), Valerio Conti (UAE Team Emirates), Jonathan Lastra (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), Fernando Barceló (Euskadi-Murias) are among the chasers behind them.
Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team) has followed another move... And Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) bridges the gap with the help of a couple of teammate"

Where professional cycling overreaches ⚠️

It’s better for Willem to recover and be able to have a sustainable successful career in the sport

Alto de la Cubilla today is an out of category climb and will feature in the finalé

Tomorrow is rest day so expect big moves from the GC favourites as there are few opportunities left to get to the podium
