Malico Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Hi Guys which is the better option : Giant OCR 3 with Shimano 105 gearset or Trek Alpha with Shimano Tiagra gearset? Both is allu frames. It is for a begginer road bike rider?

Eugene Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Depends on the models. The difference seems to be 105 or Tiagra. More recent Tiagra is better than the older 105. There are other things to consider when choosing between the two. Things like price, sizing, overall condition etc. Also OCR has a more relaxed geometry, whereas the trek is more aggressive (assuming this is the 1200 or 1.5). Both are suitable for a beginner.

Which one would I choose : - SCOTT, then- GIANT, then- Merida / Titan / etc .... PS - and just maybe I should be moving Titan UP that list !! They have been improving their offering a LOT ! ... left that other one of the list, as I still have a bitter taste in my mouth after owning one ....
