It seems to me that you want more effective braking and while going bigger with your rotors will mostly help on the front I think on the rear you're just going to end up locking your wheel easier

 

You need to learn to use your front brake properly cause it's wayyyy more valuable than the rear brake

Use of the rear to modulate speed is far more effective than using the front. To slow down, yeah front is king. But to keep yourself at a particular speed... Slight braking at the back is excellent. Trailing it through a corner, rock gardens etc etc. Not somewhere you wanna slow down or have the front dip a bit, but you might not want to go faster depending on your confidence levels.

 

So. Front and back together for slowing down, back for speed checking ) modulation

Just paint your calipers red. Instantly doubles performance.

A bigger disk will make it lock up easier.

Been there done that.

Went back to 180 Front 160 Rear on XC Bike.

Back pads will always wear quicker than fronts no matter what you do.

Back Tyre will always wear quicker than front tyre no matter what you do.

There is more weight on the back wheel.
