Hey guys and girls

I can get a new one of these for a good price, but can't demo it beforehand.

does anyone have experience with this bike?

Cheers!

I have the alu anthem 1. Awesome bike. Geometry is spot on and the maestro suspension just works great. The weight of the bicycle is also very competitive for the price (if racing is your thing). Great components (gx eagle group) and good suspension. Overall a very good package. I am very happy with mine.

I have the 2018 Advanced (just different colours if I recall correctly?) and am very happy with it.  I've put a 120mm fork on it though, so it's not "stock".  For me, it's great.  Climbs well, descends well, it's comfy, stable through loose ground and is great for long rides.

Hi Malduik

I own one, and it is a really good bike (IMO). If the price is right, you're getting a full carbon bike, carbon hoops and a bulletproof GX12-speed groupset.

The Maestro susp has been discussed at length- nothing fancy, it just works.

I find the grey and black rather striking to look at too.

Whether it is a Giant Anthem for MTB or a TCR for road use you know that Giant put out a quality product. Maybe not as sexy as some other brands but they do the job exceedingly well. I have a Pro 0 and it is dead on 10kg, when I was shopping around the 'sexy' brands were all heavier.

I have the Aluminium version of this bike, very happy with it.

Although it took me a while to get used to the slacker head geometry mainly noticeable on steep climbs, I had to play with the stem length and adjust my riding style a little, but now its fine.

Came off a Merida 29er hardtail which had a proper "race" geometry (for its day that is).

I also swapped out the 1x12 Sram and replaced with 2x11 Shimano SLX, just suits my riding better.

Take not that if you ever wanted to do this on the bike you cant, it doesn't have a front Derailleur mount at all (some info in case).

2x is dead long live 1x

You will struggle to convince me on that one. Tried my very best to make it work and hated every minute of it. Each to their own, for me my bike is perfect now, I have everything I need to do any kind of riding.

Yes, I love my Lyne adapter too! Large frame swallows 1.5 - 1.75L of fluids with ease.

I rode with a dropper for a couple of months before removing it. I like the sleek look more.

I agree fully with this comment.

Awesome bike and I fitted the Lyne double bottle holder as I didn't want a bottle holder clamp on the carbon seatpost. This has worked well for the past 3 months.

Enjoy the bike!
