You hope [emoji1]

I’m a Roglic / Jumbo and Sam Bennet fan

I'm with you on the Jumbo bit.. they've come a long way and over time transitioned from Classics team to a GC team all done with a lot of thought and patience to get to where they are now.

And plus I've had my fill of the team now known as Ineos...they've dominated the TDF for long enough I quite enjoy seeing them riding defensively..today was def not a show of strength that group was still very big at the end.

Something is off. I mean drafting in Carapaz when he was building nicely to a Giro defence, G not included when that experience would be invaluable especially with no Portal. Maybe Bernal still comes into form, but the rest look like they're on their way off the plateau already.

G Would not be able to help with anything if he is riding in the groupetto .[emoji6]

The form was terrible in the Dauphine

I feel for Carapaz who was supposed to have gone to the Giro..he got a raw deal.

Feel sorry for the riders that are working so hard for mountain top wins.no cheering from spectators .All that hard work and nobody to see or applaud your victory.

They are there.. just not at the finish .post-39623-1599148012541.jpg

Don't you think Sagan has dominated the green jersey competition for long enough ( just like Ineos has dominated the TdF for long enough) and that it will be good for cycling to see somebody new winning it for a change?

If they are better then someone else will win it.. don't just try in week one and then give up..

Same as what we are seeing with GC teams.. if you want it improve...Jumbo have.. they've built a team to challenge and it has taken a long time..good for them. It wasn't up to Ineos to lose but up to others to improve...

Lol

He has won it 7 times.. if he doesnt win it this year oh well.. I was surprised when he said he would do the TDF as well cause I still think his year is about the Giro points jersey..and this is all building for that..that's just my opinion I think he wants to honour that race after such a long wait to be there...

But like I said its only my opinion on the matter.

The problem with the green jersey competition is that not enough teams take it serious enough and as a result it has not been very competitive lately.

Jumbo for example can win it easily with Van Aert if they had to focus on it.

It is not Sagan's fault - he can only "play what is in front of him".

It's hard winning it .. it takes a lot of effort many days in difficult breaks to go collect points.. the fast guys aren't normally that committed to it because they would rather win stages and can't really climb.. Sagan has won it the same way Thor did.. many days suffering in the break being consistent... they even changed the point structure a few years ago.. still he went fighting for it. The other could've at any stage done the same..

BTW I was also a very big Hushovd fan

It does take a special type of rider to win it.

I also liked Thor.

Perhaps they should add a competition that is structured in such a way that the pure sprinters can also compete. It might motivate more of them to try and finish the race.

The sprinters chance at glory in Paris is motivation enough to finish the race [emoji6]

To add something Sagan will so be paying attention to is his GC time and his competitions GC times as well, if things end up even stevens that will be the deciding factor.

But like I said he doesn't look in the form or body shape he is always at the TDF (it's still early in the race though..things may change).. that's why I think his eye is on the Giro points jersey... so I wouldn't be all that surprised if he doesn't win the green jersey.. of course I still hope he does.. I love the guy.[emoji4]

In many ways that is still the sprint world championship. Literally only the strongest and best make it to the finish and that final sprint is always worth the watch. IIRC Ewan won that stage last year. Wouldn't put it past him to do the same this year!

Can't see anyone beating him in Paris... But yoh a long way to go and tough racing between now and then..

And also a few COVID tests await[emoji2356]
