XT vs SLX 10 speed Cassette?

The SLX also has that aluminium spider.

only half that of the XT one though. XT cassette has 6 gears on two separate alu spiders...only 4 stamped steel cogs. the SLX only has the top 3 cogs on a alu spider and 7 stamps.

if you have an Alu free body like the hope stuff you need XT level minimum imo to avoid premature damage. the bigger stamped cogs do alot more damage due to the torque they generate.

edit: slx vs xt (10spd)

I'm still confused whether the Deore cassette will cause damage to the freehub body. If so then SLX is the one for me. But Deore is obviously cheaper.

What hub set do you have? If it's not a fancy aluminium freebody, like hope etc mentioned above, I wouldn't be worried about the wear.

Thanks for that ????

But the Deore is all pinned together.  It may not have the aluminium carrier, but it's all one unit so doesn't do as much damage to an alloy freehub.  Look at the picture I've posted compared to the images above - look at how many loose individual parts are on the XT/SLX cassettes compared to the Deore.
