Determining Used Prices / Making an Offer

my first go to person for pricing is mark from mark's bicycle workshop and then 50% off of CWC price. if an item doesn't have real value ill sell it for coffee or for free if it will help somebody getting into the sport. what i hate the most of the classifieds is little to no communication or you wait days for an answer.

I look at how much use I'm getting out of it.

Usually the answer is zero.

So anything is better than having something sit around, get old and lose value.

I tend to sell cheap due to that.

I love the guys selling steel framed bikes for the same price as they paid for it 'because steel'.

Those old Momsen STR gen1s were 4k new in the shop in 2014. Now they are old, outdated geo and 2nd hand selling for 3k or 4k in the classifieds (or on a SS build for 10k ish).

That is a very specific example but just one that catches my eye.

I also chuckle at guys selling and people buying very well used 2x10 speed drivetrains for more than 50 rand.

A used cassette is not a reliable part. It could be, but it's a massive gamble... Like eating street food in Delhi without washing your hands
