Hi All,

Maybe somebody can shed some light... I have Corima 47s wheels on my bike, its coming time to replace my brake pads.

Is there somebody in SA that stocks the pads? Or do I have to import them? I am concerned that because of Covid there will be no import...

Thanks

Dylan

How do the Corima pads differ from other carbon specific pads.?

Couldn't you look at Swissstop or similar.?

I have considered Swiss Stop, but when reading up they say to only use Corima pads on the wheels... Although I know that all manufacturers will give similar advice, I wouldn't want to risk damage to my braking surface by using generic pads.

Swiss stop Black Prince. The end.

Probably the most used pads Im aware of and never once heard of issues with them.

Pretty sure the swiss stop will be 100% fine, Just like Zipp blocks too. These are top brands and aren't generic, Just don't use those cork pads and you'll be fine. The swiss stop are carbon specific and used all over the WT teams(well when they still rode rim brakes) and will work 100%

Corima pads are cork.....

The Swissstop black Prince is certainly ok or the yellow pads that are made out of Devonshire cheese.

Just don't use a very hard carbon brake pad intended for basalt reinforced brake surfaces.

My Corima are way beyond warranty anyway

You need the red cork pads - try Complete Cyclist on 011 4630040 as they were the suppliers originally. If you dont come right, i may still have some lying around although its a bit of a long shot as i cleared most of it out a year ago.

Bit of a rookie question, but what is wrong with cork pads? I put some of the red corima ones on my TT bike that I was given. Should I replace them?

Can't comment on the Corima, but cheaper generic cork pads just don't perform particularly well.

☝️This and leave a yukkie brown mark along the braking surface.

Although so did my yellow swiss stop pads actually.????

Corima Wheels is owned by Look Cycles fr. Justin Colling of Look Cycles SA should be able to help obtain the original Red Corima cork pads.
