Chippy, thank you for the info.

I'd seriously adivse everyone who was unfortunate enough to be there and witness this to go for proper professional counselling - we can all be there for you guys ina  support function but only a professional counsellor will be able to help deal with this hideous experience.

I'm thinking of all of you as you deal with this horrific tragedy.

Condolences to the family and friends.

And not forgetting those involved at the scene who may have been injured (physically and mentally).

Heard some of the track guys where involved as well.

I pray for all...

That makes me worried as it would then be some of our club members....have e-mailed the club chair to find out further details.

Just got some details.

By the sounds of things a gent riding in the bunch got a front tyre blow out which caused him to loose control, he went through the bunch and underneath a truck which was passing the bunch at the time.

4 LPCC riders were involved in the subsequent crash one broken leg, one broken collar bone, one damaged his arm and the other damaged a knee.

The guy who was riding next to the gent who had the blow out also suffered a broken collar bone.

Once again my condolances to all the families and friends involved.

Please be carefull out there everyone

CryEd is what I was told his name was.It was a fatal injury to his head,I

was pacing the bunch at about 36kms .the bunch was two abreast and neat, then the horrible sound a loud thump and the clatter of bicycles

hitting the ground.I raised my arm up and slowed the bunch down to a halt.my wife had looked back and started screaming-there has been a horrible accident.I went back to help it was a carnage, bikes and cyclist

were all over the road.So sad to see so many fellow cyclist injured and

pain and ED may he RIP.

Most of the injured cyclist are freinds of mine,Di broke her leg, this is so

sad the few ladies that we have cycling with us and they get hurt.

I spoke to a few witnesess and went back later to the accident site,

the police were still there and the truck driver,I spoke to them and

witnesses(cyclist) all had the same response-

This accident was not the truck drivers fault but the cyclist that went into

the centre of the road and with the suction ot the truck he was pulled under.

To all his friends and family my heart goes out to you.

ED RIP

Condolences to the family, may you find some calm in the thought that i believe he left doing what he loved. A speedy recovery to all the others.

The LIDO route has now cost 4 lives that i am aware off in less than a year. This might be a good time to consider the thoughts of changing the meeting place and route to let's say Carnival City or driving to the Circus and cycling from there on quiet roads around Heidelberg and Nigel.
