The Spruit is open 24/7

Always an option' date=' I just prefer riding the Spruit in a group, since there's plenty vagrants these days, especially Bryanston side.

The difference here is that girls have been practicing this look for centuries. It's a special skill handed down from generation to generation. The traditional use for the death-glare was for birth-control in the middle ages, but with all the pharmaceutical help these days, girls tend to focus the death-glare on pretty much anyone and everyone.

Guys, on the other hand, are much nicer people and don't ride looking at people funny.

I ride the Spruit often but I must say I have never done it alone. It surpises me when I see girls riding it alone......not a woosie but that's just playing with fire for me. I saw what happened to 1 of us a few weeks back and don't even want to think what would have happened if he was alone or if something happens to me while I am alone.

If I ever see you or hear that you went out cycling alone then you will be in big trouble !!

I have to. The "girls" on the hub do not want to go out at 7:30.

Oh crap, you're not talking to me.

Yeah apparently we're going out at 8 Wink But usually we leave way earlier than that. The frost is still on and stuff......

Personally i think anyone on an mtb in a "secluded" (ie there are not 150cars per minute going past!!) area like the spruit is mad not just a security point of view, but health and safety. on monday i went over that cool ramp thing heading towards sandton in the craighall park area on a new bike i had ridden but once before. fortunately, my boyfriend (who egged me on enough to accelerate over the sand heapLOL) was with me. I caugh what was, for me, big air (read about 1.5m LOL), had a slight panic, bottomed out the shock, pulled the tyre off the rim, dispersed the sludge all over the ground, reseated the rim and then planted my elbow into the ground hard enough to dislocate my shoulder and break the larger tuberosity off the head of my right humerus. Had i been alone, my broken arm would still be lying there, no doubt picked dry of all its meat. instead, i am sitting at my dear friends house,(who has had to do EVERYTHING  for me short of wipe my @ss) tilted at a 45 degree angle typing with my left hand and trying to releive the pain from the stitches, the plate and the 8pins. so please, never ever ride your mtb alone LOL

We will both tackle him ' date=' he's not called BB cause he's a midget !![/quote'] punch him in the belly. not nice for someone recovering from a hernia smiley15.gif

?

Your laaities will ride in the dark at the zoo farm you chop LOL
sorry, man, the sins of the father and all that... smiley36.gif ps, hey mr specialized, my boet just bought his third spesh road bike: a tarmac sl. the paint job is really ugly. his older one is much nicer. we also had a giigle at groenies on sunday when we saw a laaitie riding a 12" spesh.

?

It's not about the bike paint job, it's about the bike! At least there is hope for 1 member of the family.

?

Aren't you 2 doing Epic together? You singlespeed?

we are apparently. should be interesting: we can barely speak off the bike, imagine 9 nine days together! smiley36.gif haha! kidding. big up to the man. am posting from a ibook that he graciously has given to me. now i can post from home despite being ill as a dog. noticed that he purchased a pair of disc wheels the other day despite the fact that he doesn't own an mtb right now (i took the 'dale back a while ago). thinking he may have designs on an epic frame although he always has coveted my trance.

must say, despite my ribbing of spesh, they are really special ('scuse the pun) bikes. just reread an interview with robert egger this arfgie. dude knows about bike design.

It's not by choice that I ride alone... sometimes circumstances are beyond my control and my options are

a) ride alone

b) don't ride

b is not an option
