Hi all

Do any riders have or have used this pack before. I have read mixed reviews on it. I dont want to buy this pack and be unhappy with my purchase

If you can recommend a better product it would be great. Any help would be appreciated

Couple of people recommending the Mule on this thread -

Have you seen any stock in SA though ?

The only stock I am seeing in the Westerrn Cape is the "Classic" and "Rogue".

And with all my searching the spam bots are now showing me this add ....

VERY tempted to buy it .... even if just for a spare bladder .....

That's a rather expensive 2nd bladder.
But take your tools, snack pack  and layer you would typically ride with to a store, stuff it in and see if it will suit your needs. You might be surprised.

What is a good price for a 2 liter Camelbak bladder ?  I have NO idea what these cost pre-covid .... seeing some insane prices for the replacement bladders at the moment ......

The add is tempting .... but other priorities at the moment ......

A quick Google shows me that camelbak bladders are 900zars. Hoes hoes.

In contrast my secretary bought a bladder for R129 at MRP Sport this week.

That being said, in my 22years of hydration pack  use, I've only had to replace two bladders due to leaks, neither of them were camelbak (the Camelbak one I'm using in my running pack is now 7 years old.)

my 2c

1 - Camelbak bladders only- they don't pop, they don't leak and when you take out a fencepost at 80kmh on a motorbike and damage one somehow then they replace it anyway. For free, sans question, sans slip etc. Camelbak got your bak guarantee.

2 - Put that bladder in a trail running pack like the salomon adv skin 5 or 12. They fit your body a lot better and leave a lot of pockets for food etc easily accessible. They also sit high enough for you to reach cycling shirt pockets easily as well. But the lack of movement of the pack when riding is a dream, no bounce or sway or anything. The weight is distributed well as well so you don't feel it on your shoulders.

I have an older Mule and have no issues with it.
Never tried anything else, so am not sure what I would try and improve on it.

Uswe seem to be getting good reviews, but are quite a bit more expensive.

Price and availability will be big factors in your final choice.
