Anyone else follow the Iron Man Sub 7 / Sub 8 attempts yesterday morning. (#Sub7Sub8)

An insane effort from all four athletes to achieve their goals comfortably:

Kristian Blummenfelt: 6:44:25

Swim-48:21

Bike-3:24:22

Run-2:30:50

Kat Mathews: 7:31:54

Swim-54:43

Bike-3:50:06

Run:2:46:09

Joe Skipper finished in 6:47:36 and Nicola Spirig in 7:34:19

Skipper's bike leg was insane with a time for the 180km of 3:16:42 equating to an avg speed of 54.9 km/h

Ya I watched it, was interesting and the team time trial at 54km/hr was insane!!

Have a feeling there might be a new race format after this and rather than just 2 athletes (M/F), perhaps top 5 or 10 PTO ranking and each having a team for all legs....

Even though it was a showcase and contrived, there was still a good element of racing to it.

Was the whole Kristian train outfitted with Cadex bikes?

That should be some serious $ just there for a showcase.

Looked like it.

Stand to be corrected but think that Alex Dowsett was one of the pace makers for Skipper on the bike leg
