Slippery brake levers

slight hijack - I was struggling for many months to clear that first table top at the Hoogekraal Skills Park after the drop-off. No matter how fast I descended and hit the drop, soon as I launched of the table I'd case it. Utter frustration for months on end.

Then one day I was there again and Pottie came down the line, hit the drop, and then gave two cranks before sailing clean over the table. And that was when my jumping skill elevated to the next level.

Letting go of the brake levers, and adding more speed was the key to clearing the jump. Since unlocking the first table I now clear the entire line all the way to the bottom and that paid huge dividends on the new Hammer flow line.

Speed really is your friend.

Also when descending on loose surface you need to be going faster that the loose surface can move. That way you have control. Go slower than "The Earth Can Move" well you know what happens then.

Get some self adhesive foam and stick it on the levers. Can either do a strip or wrap them around.

A much thinner version of this stuff: https://www.takealot.com/motoquip-foam-self-adhesive-sealing-strip/PLID40661052

Hardware store should have, but I know for a fact that Rubber Products and Mouldings in Voortrekker Road have a variety of widths and thickness.

They'll be a makeshift version of these: https://www.racing-planet.com/brake-lever-foam-rubber-grips-voca-racing-red-p-393591-1.html?sessID=154f312a7a159f4b30823d5e5e77ca35#lg=1&slide=0

With the wet weather we are experiencing at the moment in the Cape, I am having a little trouble with my brake levers. I am running Sram Guide RSC and when my levers get wet from rain or brushing against wet branches, I struggle to hold on, on long decents. I'm scared I might have a miss-hap one of these days when I need it most.

I gave it some though and have some ideas, but would love your input:

1. Stick skateboard grip tape on the lever. Only downside it the wear on my gloves or roasting my fingers if bare handed

2. drill holes in the lever like on my dropper lever. Pro: weight saving!, Con: might affect the lever integrity

3. Rough up the surface with a file/grit paper.

What are your thoughts on giving a brake?
