Bike Recommendations: MTB with a budget of R10k - R15km (+ store recommendations)

I've been scouring the internet for the best bike buys that would suit my needs best.

I'm looking for an MTB that I can use to ride to work (road) and also use off-road. My budget is between R10k-R15k.

Also, I'm 200 cm tall, so I'm also looking for something compatible with my length.

I've had a look at some of Titans bikes (the Roque Dash and Cruz). They seem to offer the best deal. I also saw that Signal makes bikes that are fairly decently priced, but I can't seem to find many reviews of them (does anyone have any opinions on them?).

What specific bike would you recommend for my needs?

And what are the most reliable online stores? Is there somewhere where I can place orders for bikes?

Thanks!

The Titan Rogue Cruz offers great value for money. Great spec with a 5YR Warranty.

"It’s staggeringly impressive how solid and fun this base-level hardtail feels. It has a calm and planted disposition on the trails that’ll suit rookies. Experienced riders will enjoy the easy handling characteristics. Titan Racing easily gets a ‘Bike Network 5-star rating’ for their Rogue Cruz. It performed far above its pay grade."

We have owned a couple of Titan bikes, and are happy customers.

Signal is also decent value for money.  New kid on the block.  Not sure of their warrantee.

If you are in the Western Cape, speak to JP at Recycles in Bellville.  They are Signal dealers.

I know suggesting Titan Racing Bikes on the forum seems to upset some people that like to spend big  money on the name on a frame but since you already mentioned it............

The Rogue Dash is an excellent option! Beautiful looking bike with SRAM Level Brakes and a Rockshox Front fork with a remote lockout* also for R15k or so... leaves you with R5k for a bike fitting, sweet helmet, shorts and some other gear all in under R20k budget.

Bought my Titan at Cajees Cycles in Centurion and got a pretty sweet deal.

*Off the top of my head I kinda vaguely remember seeing a lockout lever on this bike but check the specs before you take my word for it.

**I don't get any kickback or whatever was suggested that we get for suggesting Titan Bikes, they're just great bikes with great specs and a 5 year multi user warranty, I have one myself and I stick with and leave behind people that spent 2x to 3x more for a name on a frame.

At Saturday's Vines&Views 75km event I saw many Titan Racing bikes.

I am the one who suggested that people must be getting kickbacks. It was said tongue in cheek and I thought it came across as such. I stick to the rest of my post in that other thread. A “cheap” Titan is not the solution to every “What bike should I buy” question. In that thread they were looking for a bike for a 150kg 6 foot something behemoth, suggesting a relatively entry level bike of any brand was not the solution there. Titan or other.

In this thread OPs situation, an affordable Titan might actually be a great option.
