Event Name: 2023 Imbuko Big Five MTB Challenge

Imbuko Family Vintners will be hosting the “IMBUKO BIG FIVE MTB CHALLENGE” on 18 February 2023. In this unique challenge, riders will endure a total ascent of 3 000m over 77km, making it the ultimate one-day event to test your strength and fitness only four weeks before the 2023 ABSA Cape Epic. Race starts at 6h30!

Here we go again, the Mother of events, if you think you have done some tough MTB races before.  Will be my umpteenth attempt to finish one without cramps, and will most surely swap out the 34T for a 32T this year around - anyone got a 28T lying around, I'll gladly buy you some cold ones 🙂

And here I’m just wishing for not another DNF. Excited much especially for the new sections.

if it is a choice between the two, I would just forego the chainring and enter the race 🤔

think there will be a few crashes as fatigue sets in as its just over half way. The climb to the top is rad 😎

The climb is just as gnarly, some sections are so tight you might have to dab or do like a nose wheelie to make the turn.
