There are two Saffers, one being Benky....👌who is slowly moving through the field, tsetrday he was 14th, currently lying 6th, and A gent by the name of rowan Matthews who is lying 37th about halfway

Race Update day 3

Benky now in 4th place, with 300 km to go, still some climbs ahead then a nice Gravel road along the coasst to the finish

Benky is now only 40 km, away from taking third place 300km to go

Rowan is a machine and has completed a couple of Freedom Challenges and If I recall broke 16 days last year.

I rode with him on R2R in 2016, lekker guy as are his brothers!

Rowan now in 31st with 66km to Check point 3, Benky is in the mountains with 222km to go

I have another mate riding in the race but at the bottom end of the field, Patrick is from Belgium and has visited SA a couple of times. I met him in 2021 at Silk Road and he went back to Silk Road last year. So he's getting around!
