Also, and you probably know this already, make sure you use a quality 24mm socket, not a shifting spanner or worn-down socket. thebob Posted October 5, 2023 Share That Motul oil will work 100% and will probably be 10x cheaper than the Rockshox stuff EddieV

I wonder where the bike shops themselves get this oil, I mean are they all buying from overseas? Do you use this Motul on a Rockshox Golden RL too? Of it's not giving you problems I guess it can work for me too the agents https://www.capecycles.co.za/ King Wakanda

If you use Alternatives they can pick on you and Void the Warranty (If the Fork is under warranty) If your fork is under Warranty it might be better to have it serviced by the place where it or the bike was bought. Gold and Silver is the Spec Level of the Fork Gold is better than Silver. RL is a Motion Control Damper TK is a Turnkey Damper (RL is better than TK because RL is adjustable Damping TK is fixed Damping) The Lowers is the Same on Gold or Silver TK or RL The Oil is the Same. Marcv Posted October 5, 2023 Share Hi I bought some from Solomans cycles in woodmead. It wasn't the rockshox one but the maxima one which is the same thing.....or at least thats what the internet says. But prepare yourself, its not cheap. I also got the Sram butter there which you can use on your bushings. I've used normal fork oil in my mrp (lowers and damper), fox oil and fork oil in my fox forks and maxima in a SID.....they all work well. Good luck Edited October 5, 2023 by Marcv
Alouette3 Posted October 5, 2023 Share @droo from Stoke Suspension Works will be here in the morning I'm sure. If he can't help you.... nobody can! The cst viscosity value is the important one to match, not weight printed on the front, as this standard can vary between manufacturers. No harm in using another brand. I've use BelRay on Rockshox and Fox in the past. If memory serves me correctly, Castrol can be used for the 15W in Rockshox lowers. I'll check in the morning DieselnDust

droo Posted October 6, 2023 Share 22 hours ago, King Wakanda said: Good day I plan to do a 50/200 hour service on my Rockshox Golden RL. I plan to do it myself but I'm missing one crucial thing, suspension oil, specifically the RockShox Suspension Oil, 15 Weight (15wt). It is the one that is listed in the Sram manual book for fork service. I tried looking for it online and it seems to be available only outside SA. Does anyone know where I can buy this suspension oil? I contacted one bike shop and they told me that they don't sell the oil to customers, one other bike shop mentioned that they even use motorbike suspension oil on the bike forks. I'm not sure what any other type of oil will do to my fork, is there anyone who uses other available alternative suspension oil to service their fork? I have stock, will happily sell to you. You don't say where you are, but can ship anywhere in SA. King Wakanda
