Don't think they should have bothered. Tracer has worse rolling resistance than most fast XC Mtb tyres in the 2.25 to 2.40 range.

Looks like Blevins and Vidaurre ran tracers back and front for a short track 1-2 yesterday.

I was about to ask if anyone had any experience with them.
Is it worth getting the HD version ?

(also keen on some 48's in that colour)

Very mixed reviews of the Thundero online specifically viz puncture resistance. Rolling resistance seems good but lots of comments about crazy levels of punctures on front, back; numerous punctures in a single ride from different users. I decided against them for that reason. People seem to think that reviewers were solicited and paid to positively review and punt them. I’m just stating what I saw online but it was enough to put me off. They’re a sweet looking tyre for sure but I am not a fan of punctures.

So far the 48 have treated me well, although I have limited mileage on them. I opted for the more volume for Race to the Sun and they were great. I'll put some more km's on them and let you know about the puncture protection.

I've got Schwalbe Racing Rays on my MTB and they seem to be quite prone to punctures.

I would definitely run the HD as it’s still on the light side, and I did have punctures on the HD once (pinch flat requiring two plugs).
I ran one with inserts this season and had no more issues but I wouldn’t run it on a course known for punctures

Puncture resistance aside they are very good tyres

We’ve been running the regular 44s for over a year. Only had one issue where my sealant was dry and a plug wouldn’t work.

Done about 5000km on two bikes in quite varied riding from rocky singletrack (I should have been on an mtb) to road and they’ve been solid. Not one issue. Call it luck but on both our bikes punctures haven’t been an issue as others have mentioned.

Actually make that 6500km.
