2025 WC XCC/XCO

First race this weekend... Is it just me that's quite uninspired by the route for the XCC race? Looks like you could do it on a gravel bike...

At a venue with so many trail options, surely they could have made a course with more than 5 corners, some switchbacks and a tiny bit more technical?

New to this format, but expected more, so anyone out there that can give me more perspective?

They cannot be serious? How boring.

Clearly they believe that youngsters and old ballies can't corner & jump 😖

That is seriously uninspiring for anyone considering entering the race, I know I wouldn't waste my money on a course like that.

Oh no, that's the tougher course... this is the easer one for the kids:

Bare in mind

XCC is short track

XCO is where gaps burms etc comes in

Well aware of that, but come on... XCC should be more of a short XCO course and thats not what I'm seeing.

thanks, then i have to agree that XCC makes no sence and cant see why you would enter that? would have been a different story if it was backed up with the XCO at the same venue over the wkend but no...

It the first XCC event in the Provincial calendar. The objective is to test the water.

I haven't ridden it yet so I don't know if there are any features or if its just a bit of gravel road. It all part of the 2025 PMTB XCO Series so its points on the board. A lap is roughly 1.2km and its 15min per race so about 5-6 laps for vets and masters. XCC is a sprint format so I wouldn't expect to see too much elevation or technicality

I was keen to do all the events in the series, but to be honest this one has me reconsidering it.

I get that they are testing the water, but my feedback is that this is very unappealing.

I suggest to send the feedback to WPMTB

All I can contribute is that this section is fast with a flowy slight downhill, loose with one or 2 short berms and rocky, not a rock garden rocky just rocks that can cause a pinch flat if pressure is too low. It's called the Home Run if you are familiar with Bloemendal.
