Ive had a 210mm v2 One up and now a v3 in 240mm. They are great. The v3 is a also much improved over the v2 in terms of action, slop etc. Ive had good experiences with 170 and 200mm Lyne’s too.
None of them compare to the Bikeyoke Revive I had and sold on another bike. Thats still my ‘money is no object dropper’ Yes..they are infinitely more expensive but im still convinced thats the best dropper money can buy..even compared to all the wireless junk out now.

Well if you want a post that will last along time and is supported by the distributor then spend a little more. The One Up V3 dropper is about R5500, seems very durable and doesn’t develop slop like the cheap posts do. I’ve had a Lyne and even before it was a year old it developed a lot of slop and was told that’s just how all posts are. Then once the warranty had expired it turned out the outer tube was worn and they didn’t have a spare part for that. Never again. You get what you pay for.
So to me a reasonable price for a quality dropper is between R5000 and R6000.

i want my kit to work and work reliably. If slop is acceptable then I may as well not service my pivot bearings either 😟

On the money!

One Up is probably best value for money for something that will last.

All out winner is Bike Yoke Revive.

The play getting progressively worse and replacing blown catridges will eventually drive you to a R5k+ upgrade

My dropper is a tad sticky of late. Is it ok to do the dirty with a spray or 2 of Q20?

I wouldnt. Rather clean it. Q20 type stuff is a good dust attractant

You might find dirt and grime has built up under the locking seal clamp. Losen this a bit and clean it out. Re-tighten but not over tighten as it'll restrict good up down speed

Lube the slider with a few drops of 5w40 engine oil or if you have fork lube use that. Unscrew the wiper seal collar and lube underneath the wiper seal (After cleaning in there first with an ear bud dipped in oil). slide the wiper collar up and down a few times and refit it. this should now force enough oil down into the post to lube the shaft
