unfortunately not the more gears a bike has the thinner the chain and sprockets get in order to accommodate the sprockets to fit on the hub.

6/7/8 speed chains have a width of 7.3mm
9 speed chains are 6.5-6.7mm
10 speed chains are 5.88mm
11 are 5.62mm
12 speed are 5.15-5.25mm

In a pinch it will get you out of trouble mid ride but the link will snag on the bigger sprocket on the cassetter and maybe even your derailleurs. But rather just get the correct quicklink

I have a 9 speed quick link. Will this work on a 10speed chain?

Yes, and no ....

The pin length of a 9 speed link is potentially longer (wider) than that of a 10 speed.

Thus it should pass through and fit.

BUT .... that extra width may cause some rubbing on the cassette .... okay to get you home, but replace as soon as possible.

Having an 11 speed link is of zero use when fixing a 10 speed chain .... the pins are simply too short.

Could cause the chain to skip
