In tough times like these, it’s easy to become so focused on our own struggles that we overlook those in need around us. What makes this situation remarkable is how many things seemed to fall into place naturally. As a cycling community in Durbanville, we are truly blessed to be surrounded by like-minded individuals. Regardless of your faith or belief system, there’s something deeply fulfilling about looking beyond yourself and reaching out to others.

This very talented young lady has already pushed me into zone 5 on a few of the Team Flip morning social (‘race’) rides while riding a 15 kg steel bike. Now that she’s on a 10.4 kg bike, I suspect she’ll be putting many of us into the hurt locker for the foreseeable future!

(I’ll replace the photo once I get permission from her parents or her very awesome uncle.)

Well said @Herschel 👏

I recently blessed a gentleman named William, that sells garden signs all around the northern burbs with an old 26er mtb that I picked up for next to nothing. Actually the 2nd one I've given him, the first one was for his son in grade 8 a few years back, who is now studying Engineering at Oxford off an international bursary he received 😲
The shear joy and elation on that mans face will stay with me forever. It was raining outside but he still jumped on it and rode it up and down the road to test it out 😄
Too often we take so much of what we have for granted and fail to see the need around us that we can assist with for very little effort. Giving is indeed better than receiving 🤙
