I heard that one of the organisers left ran away with all the entry fees. Not sure how true this is though.

Wouldn’t be surprised 🤷🏼‍♂️

And no email or sms from no one to confirm this from the orginizers side.....Pity 2 races down the tubes and our entry fees!!!!!

If I did not see it here I would still think Ockt is going to be a busy month!!Now only the 94.7 left.

Pretty frustrating right!!  The least they could do is send us some correspondance.

I emailed MyActive, and their response was:

STATEMENT FROM EVENT ORGANISER, WYNAND DE VILLIERS – DE VILLIERS NATIONAL CYCLING

Following the recent successful liquidation action brought against De Villiers National Cycling by Hit Factory, all organisational processes relating to the Montecasino Classico and Emperors Palace Classic have been formally stopped.

As a direct consequence of the liquidation order, no further planning, coordination, or execution of these events will take place under the auspices of De Villiers National Cycling.

The matter now falls within the jurisdiction of the appointed liquidator, who will oversee all related assets, contracts, and financial implications in accordance with the applicable legal framework.

We recognise the historic importance of both the Montecasino Classico and the Emperors Palace Classic to the South African cycling calendar. However, until the liquidation process has run its course, no further commitments or assurances regarding the future of these events can be made.

Thanks for the feedback, the least they could have done is send this out to all the entrants.

That's the problem with us South Africans, we roll over too easily to have our tummy scratched and end up enjoying it so we then accept it as the norm.

It is worth the effort. Its not fair that you only get a fraction of your hard earned beer coins back on the coupons you spent, but its more to do with leaving the liquidated with nothing in his pockets.

Remember back in the old days, most people became rich by liquidating themselves to that position (often multiple times), moving assets into their divorced partners name etc. Oh, the skullduggery that happened...
I'm not saying its the same case here with De Villiers, but the more you take away from them now with the claims, the better

I'm lodging my claim for the entry fee I lost. If I get enough back for a six pack or less, I will really enjoy the bitter sweet taste of those beers, and if there's any left over, I will pay if forward to an entry for a junior to the next available 947

F**k 'em

Email sent out today from liquidators around claim procedures for refunds (if at all) of entry fees paid for both Emperors and Monte.

I didn’t get that email (I only entered Tour du Cap). Does anyone know which email address we should send our claim to?
